I am a board-certified general psychiatrist and board-eligible addiction psychiatrist with broad experience in the treatment of mental health and substance use issues.  I am a strong proponent of client-centered, evidence-based care.  While medications may play a role in your treatment, I believe in a multi-modal approach to mental health care that incorporates pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy with physical health and well-being.  I believe you will find my approach to be warm, genuine, supportive, and responsive, with an understanding that my clients are foremost human beings, above all else.

My prior and ongoing experiences include providing psychiatric care in a variety of practice settings, for a broad range of clients.  I have provided both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care for a large number of patients.  In addition to treating general psychiatric needs, I have had specialized training in the treatment of college/university students, people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), LGBTQ+ clients, and people suffering from substance addictions.  My current role as an NIH-supported addiction research fellow at Columbia University also provides me with cutting edge insights into psychiatric and addiction treatment, which I am able to integrate into my practice.

My practice integrates medications and psychotherapy.  For clients already engaged in psychotherapy, I provide psychopharmacology consultations and/or medication management.  I offer GeneSight genetic testing to help tailor psychiatric medication treatment.  I do not participate in-network for any health insurance plans, but your out-of-network benefits may provide reimbursement for my services.
