TRAINING & CERTIFICATION

I am a board-certified general psychiatrist and board-eligible addiction psychiatrist with broad experience in the treatment of mental health and substance use issues.  I am a strong proponent of client-centered, evidence-based care.  While medications may play a role in your treatment, I believe in a multi-modal approach to mental health care that incorporates pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy with physical health and well-being.

EXPERIENCE

My prior and ongoing experiences include providing psychiatric care in a variety of practice settings, for a broad range of clients.  I have provided both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care for a large number of patients.  In addition to treating general psychiatric needs, I have had specialized training in the treatment of college/university students, people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), LGBTQ+ clients, and people suffering from substance addictions.  My current role as an assistant professor and research psychiatrist also provides me with cutting edge insights into psychiatric and addiction treatment, which I am able to integrate into my clinical practice.
